So it's been about 4 years since my last journal update. Today I deleted a lot of my old crap. I couldn't bear to see it anymore. I also added a new image. It's just a thing I did while bored that turned out pretty okay. I can't imagine a more stock-standard space art scene but whatever.

Well, I seem to have perfected my texturing... within reason at this point. Use of the gradient map tool is pretty easy now, since I've built up a small library of gradients for different sorts of worlds. It's interesting to see the effects of using different gradient maps on top of each other and changing the layer blend types. The wierd thing is, I seem to have been the first to think of using this tool. I know Alyn and others use another method, which achieves a very similar effect, but seems to take a lot more effort. I've just been going over my old deviations. I put a lot of work into those, and not anywhere near as much into my more recent pieces. And yet... they blow! Evidently my skills have evolved in leaps and bounds. Can't say as I'm unhappy about that. Sheesh!

Thanks for the +watch :)
Oh captain my captain! It is good to see you on deviantART, though I hadn't pegged you as the type to be part of this community. Tell you what, though, post Nist Akath as a sequence of literature deviations and you will quite likely have your entire self-expanding Bay 12 following showing up to see it.

Not sure if pageviews and community attention and such float your boat, but if they do, then that's probably the single easiest way to get them.

Either way, I am interested in the work you have here -- some of it looks fractal at first glance (one of my personal hobbies), so I'll be interested to get a better look at it.
big thanks fro the :+fav: :)
